Ups And Downs @ Work & Who Keeps Me Moving On

The title : Integrated Projects Management, Senior Legal Counsel (what a title...)

The area of responsibility : Middle East & Asia (15 countries in Middle East; 14 countries in Asia)

Reporting line : Direct Manager from Scotland; Functional Manager from Australia; 2nd Functional Manager from UK.

Team : From Gatwick; Houston ; Russia ; Mexico ; Latin America.

With all the above, I was not without fear. Having been rated A, plus having been granted Stock Options 3 years in a row, made it even more difficult as the expectation is very high. Being placed at the Area level (as opposed to country level) has its price.

The feedback so far has been good, but I still have the feeling of uncomfortable as to whether I am performing to the standard. It is highly competitive, and I'm out of my comfort zone.

Earning trust of internal clients (most of them are very seniors in the Co) is not an easy task. Especially when I am the "Asian" and they are the xxxx's. Have to protect the best interest of the shareholders; and at the same time must help operations with revenue target so I must not be seen as an obstacle; and must be seen as adding value to the business. It is not as easy as crossing the t's and dotting the i's.......

Had lunch with CEO last week (during his visit to Dubai). 7 of us were invited to hv a roundtable lunch with him. He knew me, my work, my background.. amazing. Quite an experience and was feeling great! And not without envious eyes from the rest.

Other development in the past week made me drag my feet to work. Had an uninvited assistance in office ..

But no matter what the situation is @ office, my dearest  3DHS never fail to put a smile back on my face when I reach home.. Syukur Alhamdulillah yg tak terhingga dengan anugerah and amanah yg Allah kurmiakan...

  1. Assalamualaikum Ina,
Faham perasaan tu. Tambahan lagi dok di perantauan. Nak mengadu kat partner kita kekadang backfire kat kita balik. Nak ngadu kat anak2, diaorg terlalu kecil utk memahami.
And Insya Allah, we will get the reward through unexpected ways. Mungkin melalui anak2, suami dsbnya. Wallahua'lam.

p/s send my regards to Kamal dan 3DHS kay

I ada try call dia dari Mekah tapi message yg jawab. Apa2pun , kim salam kat dia kay. Kekadang bila tiba hujung minggu tu, rasa sepi lak. Dah takde panggilan utk buat retreat spontan.
Utk pengetahuan u, kami dgn rasminya akan pindah ke Melaka pada 2-JAN-2011 ni. Sayang gak nak tinggalkan Saujana Utama ni, tapi life goes on. Tahun ini memang tahun Hijrah untuk kita ye. U all ke Dubai, we all ke Melaka...setiap yg berlaku, Allah yg tentukan, wallahua'lam..
